Air- Airlines offer winter storm waivers | WOOD TV8

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Several flights scheduled to fly into Grand Rapids have been cancelled this weekend because of the weather.

Some airlines have already announced they will allow some travelers to change their flights or get refunds because of the storm.

Delta, West Michigan\’s largest air service provider, posted on its website \”If your flight is canceled or significantly delayed, you are entitled to a refund. Even if your flight is not canceled, you may make a one-time change to your ticket without fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from, or through the following destination(s) on Delta, Delta Connection®, or Delta-coded flights,\” if you travel between January 5 and 6.

Southwest Airlines is also offering waivers and refunds ahead of the storm.

\”Customers holding reservations to/from Grand Rapids (GRR) on Sunday, January 5, wanting to alter their travel plans may rebook (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying any additional charge,\” according to their website.

As of Saturday night American and Allegiant Airlines had not posted anything about waivers for flights over the next few days.

United Airlines is offering waivers to travelers who are flying between January 2 and 7 to many different cities including Chicago, Washington D.C., Cleveland, and New York/Newark, NJ.

If you\’re flying into or out of Grand Rapids, travelers are being asked to check with their airline before heading to the airport.
