Southwest Airlines said it, too, will not allow phone conversations in flight, and Virgin America is leaning against it.\”Our customers overwhelmingly say that this is not an option they would enjoy onboard,\” said a Southwest spokeswoman.A Virgin America spokesman said, \”Although we will review any proposed rule changes in this area, we remain committed to maintaining a quiet and restful cabin environment.\”Last week, the Federal Communications Commission voted to craft a rule that would allow passengers to use in-flight mobile voice services, which would pave the way for airlines to install cellular transponders. On Wednesday, three airlines Delta, United and JetBlue said they don\’t plan to equip their planes with the technology to allow in-flight cellphone calls, because most of their customers want a cabin without phone conversations.American Airlines is taking a wait-and-see approach.
