DAYTON, Ohio — The former president of a union representing more than 600 southern Ohio transit authority drivers and employees has pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing from the union he once led.

The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/Q4zzmf ) reports that Claude Huff changed his plea to guilty Tuesday in federal court in Dayton. He’ll likely avoid jail, instead getting probation when he’s sentenced later.

Huff resigned as president of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1385 in 2010 amid an investigation that he overpaid himself from union funds.

Prosecutor Dwight Keller said Tuesday that Huff paid himself overtime that as a salaried employee he was not due.

As part of the plea agreement, Huff will pay about $110,000 in restitution.
