Air- Southwest issuing refunds after social media-related glitch

Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) has begun processing refunds for multiple bookings caused by a computer glitch. Dallas-based Southwest over the weekend had offered discounted flights as a promotion for reaching 3 million friends on Facebook. The glitch, which created duplicated bookings every time a customer refreshed Southwest’s webpage, was caused by a malfunction from the unusually high volume of bookings from its “friends.”
